FinancePizza Hut Staff

Our Finance departments, Control and Planning, work together to report and analyse business results and help set the path for future business growth. In both departments, you'll have exposure to lots of different areas of the organisation, as well as the opportunity to study for qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA and PPM for Payroll.

"We're very proud to have won lots of awards from Yum! for being one of their best Finance teams. As a department we're also committed to helping people get through their exams, with plenty of coaching on top of monthly one-to-ones."
Gerard - Financial Controller.

Control
Control is focused on approving, processing and recording all the company's financial transactions and reporting the figures back to our investor, Yum!, as well as statutory bodies, the Board of Directors and the rest of the organisation. But it's much more than that. We also carry out fraud prevention and protect business assets. Additionally, due to our global nature, we work hard to ensure compliance with both UK and US statutory requirements.

"It feels like the company really puts their faith in you in terms of offering new challenges. They always seem to have your next move ready when you want it, providing any additional training you need."
Verity - Finance Manager.

"At my old company I'd been doing the same role for three years, whereas I've been with Pizza Hut just 18 months and have already progressed."
Ben - Management Accountant.

Planning
Playing a big part in directing the future of the business, our Planning team analyses our "economic engine" and works with the Board to drive value-creating business initiatives. Capital Planning evaluates the returns on our investments, including new store openings and systems development projects. For example, if Business Development wanted to introduce a new restaurant format, what would be the business case to support this new venture? Business Planning creates financial strategies for each restaurant to optimise profitability. So, a Planning Analyst might identify that the company is spending too much money on electricity or cheese, and might recommend extra training out in the field. Our dedicated Sales and Marketing Planning team deals with all aspects of pricing and marketing promotions. They make sure the Board are aware of any risks involved in promotional activities and recommend ways to offset them.

"There aren't many companies where you have the opportunity to present your work directly to the Board, or see a graduate playing football with the CEO! There's a real 'open door' policy."
Laurence - Business Planning Manager.
