Product Development
This small Product Development division manages the entire development
pipeline for new products in a fast-paced and complex environment. This
process can start from many avenues: Business or marketing briefs, finding
a gap in the market, brainstorming ideas, sourcing new products or working
with our army of suppliers on first-to-market new product development.
We create new recipes in our onsite kitchen and from here we run concept
testings to ensure it is right for our customer base. Once we have developed
a winning line, we create training sessions and materials to ensure our products
can be replicated from Lands End to John O'Groats. Our creative flair is used
in our menu photography and television campaigns to ensure our food looks as
yummy on camera as it is in the restaurants! We also keep up-to-date with all
the latest consumer trends – for example, making sure we let our guests know
the calorie content of all our food.
Once our products are launched, our work doesn't stop there. We work tirelessly
to ensure food hygiene and nutritional standards are adhered to and that we are
running in line with Government policies in health and additives. From selecting
alternative suppliers to match existing products pricewise whilst improving their
provenance, or sorting out waste control management, we work closely across the
business and beyond and have a real impact, right up to board level.
