RAJ KHURANA
PLANNING ANALYST

I started in the company 17 years ago and I started off as a Team Member. I then, went through to become a Support Manager and then worked up the ranks, then became a Deputy Manager and then became a Store Manager and then eventually I came to the Head Office which is our RSC, Restaurant Support Centre and I'm currently in the Planning Department which is in the Finance Department.

What I was really proud of was that I was able to use my operations knowledge and my financial knowledge to literally help these Restaurant Managers to become better at producing a most, more profitable part of the business itself.

When our marketing team actually roll out a great initiative,. our job is very much to say, how profitable was that business, should we roll it out, should we not roll it out.

I'm actually doing an Accountancy degree which is being funded by Pizza Hut itself to help me develop further down in the career line.

The key thing from the business is act like an owner, though you have the big heading of Pizza Hut it was your own business. I felt really proud of actually making those profits and everything else. Some of the things in terms of this owner is that I got a chance to literally market the business itself, recruiting the business itself, I became this one business, you know within this one unit. And the great thing is now that I've moved with the RSC, the business still allows me to trial new initiatives, and that's something that I'm not sure if every business allows that. I can go to the senior management team and say look at this idea I think we can actually better the business, I think we can be more profitable in this business, I know very little companies that do that.
